MAP GROUND RULES
(1) Data-driven, not data-complete—what’s missing stays hidden.
(2) Helper not replacer—aims to further inform, not replace, your decisions.
(3) Distance-based—Factors (other than distance) crucial to walking behaviors (e.g., sidewalk quality) are not included.
THE LAYERS: Toggle them on or off:
Walkable Streets: The streets used to calculate accessibility. These streets are considered designated for pedestrians by OpenStreetMap.
Places: Places collected from OpenStreetMap (e.g., playgrounds,grocery stores etc.).
The Accessibility Scale: Shows the number of destinations within a 5- or 15-minute walk.
Click the layer to reveal the left-hand slider and adjust the map’s color scale.
The Accessibility Checkmark: Highlights locations that meet your selected criteria. Click the layer to open the left-hand panel and adjust your criteria.
