Mapping pedestrian co-accessibility

This map keeps two related—but different—questions visible.

Choose a walking time

Five minutes reveals the immediate neighbourhood. Fifteen minutes shows a broader everyday walking area.

Co-accessibility · places

POI colours describe who can reach the same destination: mixed generations, children, or older adults.

Accessibility · origin cells

Origin-cell colours describe how many destinations are accessible within the selected walking time. This is regular accessibility, not an encounter measure.

Important: CTwalk estimates the potential for encounters; it does not observe who actually visits a place.

A short visual introduction

Accessibility and co-accessibility answer different questions

Accessibility is an origin-based measure of opportunities reachable within a specified travel-time threshold. Co-accessibility examines the populations able to access the same activity location.
